At first when I saw the cover and title of this book, I thought it would be another boring book that is the new “Twilight”. But after I read it, I feel like slapping myself for judging a book by it’s cover. Cassie is an incredible author and this series [The Mortal Instruments] is truly amazing. The characters come alive under Cassie’s hand and you won’t be able to help getting attached to the characters.
(THE PREQUEL OF THIS SERIES “THE INFERNAL DEVICES” IS EVEN MORE AMAZING, IF THAT IS POSSIBLE)
🙂
The story revolves around Clary Fray, a fifteen-year-old mortal who is able to see the Shadowhunters when no other mortal could. Shadowhunters, warriors with angel blood in their veins, are devoted to fighting against demons who seek to take the world for their own. The band of Shadowhunters who Clary saw, consisting of three teenagers, vanish from Clary’s life until one fateful day, when her mother gets kidnapped by unknown forces. Sucked into a world of adventure and danger, Clary slowly starts to uncover pieces of her past and truly understand her place in the Shadowhunter world.
A romance starts to bloom as well between Clary and one the first Shadowhunters she met, yet an epic plot twist throws a shadow upon their relationship. Despite not being a fan of romance, this one was wonderfully integrated into the story, with enough twists to keep the reader on edge and guessing on every chapter.
Cassandra Clare’s brilliant writing is full of wit and adventure, expertly playing upon the emotions of anyone who opens this book. The same can be said for the five books that follow in the series, as well as the prequel series of ‘The Infernal Devices’. A must-read for every fan of Young Adult fiction.
Now, this book is a one of a kind even though it was not one of my favorite book but I still recommend you to read especially if you like love, magic and supernatural creatures than this story is just right for you. This book is a very detailed story about a girl named Clary Fray that was a mortal that could see Shadowhunters that no other mortal could see. Clary Frays mother was a one of a kind too, her mother knew something about her that she never told her until she found out, when her mother got kidnapped she started figuring a lot of stuff that she never knew about herself and her mother.
