this book is about how did a thirteen year old boy survives through a whole summer in the wild Canada forest without a shelter and with fierce wild animals around him, with his only belonging as a hatchet.

while reading this fascinating book, you will discovered that you have been hooked on to the twists and plots of the story. you will see the happiness while Brian set up his first fire with only a cave and the blade of his hatchet. you will feel the nervousness when he was attacked by a strong moose beside the lake. you will find out the surprise when he caught his first fish with only a tree branch. this book wrote about all these scenes in a vivid and detailed way, so you will find all the features in the book very interesting.

this book is fast pacing, so no worries that the book will be boring in the first two chapters. although you could still find some flaws in the book which were not logical in real life, but it is still a nice piece of literature.

go on and read this book! 🙂

These paragraphs are for the book review.
The is a adventure book written by Gary Paulsen, it’s about a boy named Brian trying to survive after a plane crush in the Canadian wilderness.
After his parents divorce, Brian only have the visit right to visit his father during the summer vacation, but the pilot had a heart attack and died on the flight. The plane was far out from it’s route and Brian crushed the plane into a lake after the fuel run out. Then the author start to describe his adventure in the forests, until the 54th day he got rescued. This is a really nice book, the characterization and the plot is awesome. Even though I think that Brian knows too much about surviving.
    This book is really nice.

For our reading class, I read the book hatchet written by Gary Paulsen. There was one main character called “Brian” in this story. His parents were divorced because of his mother’s secret love. Brian went on a private plane with a pilot and went to visit where is father was. Suddenly the pilot got a heart attack and Brian had to drive the plane on the co-pilots’ seat. The plane crashed into a river but Brian survived. Brian used his hatchet that he got from his mother and survived. He built his shelter, tools and weapons to eat and sleep. He meets wild animals such as moose, bears and wolves. He unbelievably survived until the life plane came.
In this book, the character is very similar to me. Brian complained about everything and thought he was unlucky. However he turns positive and feel thankful to everything he has. When I was younger, I was once in depression and didn’t like my life. Now, I think my life is very positive and has nothing to complain about.
I personally like romance, drama books instead of thrilling adventure books. However this book was very interesting and encouraged the reader. There was a part where Brian finds the survival pack in the plane and that was my favorite part of the book. The least favorite part of the book was when Brian went into the plane and saw the head of the dead pilot. The author’s discrimination was very realistic and it made me imagine the whole night. If I could change something in the book, I would take out the part where Brian gets attacked by a huge wild moose. The pain is described very clearly and it made me painful.
I personally recommend this book to people who like survival novels. From the beginning to the ending, the whole book is about surviving. However, I think everyone who reads this book will enjoy reading it. Me as a drama and romance book reader, I still enjoyed very much.
