   I’m Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor’s adopted sister, whom he calls his cousin even though they’re not actually related, whom he is to marry. Not the most exciting of characters (none of the female characters are very exciting), but her death is the climax of the novel and causes some action.

   I think he means William, as William was murdered by the Monster (Lisa) first, before anyone else was killed.

      I see that you have indeed read the book thoroughly. I was William, and the first victim on THE MONSTER’s “to kill” list. This stirs up the hatred Frankenstein had for the creature. Later on, only when the creature murdered Victor’s wife Elizabeth, that he started hunting down the creature.
