2016 Panda Award Nominees Announced!

We had so much fun reading and voting for the 2015 Panda Award books!  What was your favorite?  The John Green-esque Winger?  The graphic novel Boxers?

Get ready for more because the 2016 Panda Award Nominees were just announced!  That means you have time to read ALL of the nominated books before the voting takes place next year!  Find the list by clicking here: http://www.follettinternational.com/pandavoting/nominees.cfm

Panda 2016

The Panda Awards are books recommended by librarians at international schools in CHINA, then voted on by students (like you!).  Four age levels: Younger Readers (EC3 – grade 2), Middle Readers (grades 3-5), Older Readers (grades 6-8) and Mature Readers (grades 9-12).

Do you want to read the books?  Which books are you most excited about? Do you want to form a club to read and discuss the books with your friends?  Do you want to fundraise to buy the books for the library?  Do you want to have a Panda Day and wear a panda costume? Put your ideas in the comments!

I really want to read “I Am Malala,” to learn more about the youngest ever Nobel Prize laureate. Her story is fascinating and inspiring.

I’m also interested in “The Incredible Knife of Memory,” because I am familiar with the author Laurie Halse Anderson.

Ooh, also in the Younger Readers category, I want to read “The Book With No Pictures”! It’s by BJ Novak, who is a very smart, funny writer (he wrote and acted in the American TV show “The Office”).
