    The book review——Abarat 1
Abarat is a story begins in the most boring place in the city: Chicken town. Our main character Candy Quackenbush lives in this town. Candy disliked where she lives, one day she went out the town and Candy met a new world——Abarat. When Candy realized she is a strange heroine, she knows. Abarat is a strange world and in Abarat everything could be possible.
When I finished this book, I want to read the second book of Abarat. The story likes “a blend of ALICE IN THE WONDERLAND”. In the story I really like the character Christopher Carrion (he is the bad character). Carrion is the lord of Midnight and he has double personality. The reason why I like him, because he is a strange person. When everyone is in danger, Carrion would laugh at them or tease at them. If everyone thinks something is common but for Carrion it is important. What I like is Carrion has different mind, his ideas are totally different than other people. Carrion has his own idea and he likes to sneer at the foolish people (the people who do not know how to think). In the story the Shapes (who work under Carrion) is fear for Carrion. When he speaks to Carrion, his teeth have begun to chatter. From Shapes’ action we can see how scare he is.
After the character I would like to talk about the setting in the story. The setting in the Abarat is interesting. In different time, the island would change. At the time of twelve o’clock, it is the most dreadful time in Abarat. At twelve o’ clock the name of the island called Ninnyhammer. There are tarrie-cats ( black cat who kill people) and demons around, also the time Carrion liked the most. In the Chapter 26 Candy meets the tarrie-cats, and she is so scare about it. The tarrie-cats almost eat her. But Candy is a lucky girl ( well, maybe she is the main character), the tarrie-cats did not catch her. Ninnyhammer is really dark, you only can hear the wind whistle. Everyone who lives in Abarat all know, never go outside when it is Ninnyhammer time.
Abarat this story actually has many moral inside. When Candy left her home Chicken town, her mind is “I don’t like my town, I don’t like my family”, but when she is in the journey of Abarat Candy miss her family. I think when you are stay with your parents you will not feel lonely or miss your family. But when you are being outside in a new place and there are bad things, unlucky things happen to you. The only thing you need is your family. You want your family with you and they would comfort you, but now they are not here with you, then you miss them. Just like the story, Candy is travel around in the Abarat, only herself ( Candy had friends, but some of them died or loss). She feel lonely, also Carrion wants to kill her, nobody would comfort her. The only thing Candy wants in Abarat is her family. Actually in Abarat 3 Candy might ( MIGHT!) back to her Chicken town and visit her family.
Also Abarat also have 1,2,3,4 (Abarat is a continue story). At last I wish everyone should read this book and write a review.

This book is about a story between a man named Tristran and a star called Yvaine. Tristan was trying to bring her back to his village to marry Victoria, but at the end, Victoria was already married to someone else, so Tristran and Yvaine found out they like each other and lived happily ever after.

I don’t really like the story, because there are too many descriptions, and the story is separated into many parts. In one chapter, it is grouped with some paragraphs together, and that means that part is talking about these people, and that part is talking about those people doing something. However, this book is not bad at all, the story is great, and it has a wonderful ending.

WARNING: BEST IF Christians doesn’t read the book

What in God’s Name- Simon Rich
We usually think Heaven is beautiful and a carefree place, but in this novel, Heaven is described just as the human society. The god managements the world, angles which works below the god treats human’s complainant and they also do make some mercy for us. One day, the god got bored of the life since human couldn’t reflect on their actions and couldn’t thank the god, he decides to destroy the Earth. Craig and Eliza from the lowly Department of Miracles tries to stop the God’s plan by making a deal with the God – Making two socially awkward humans in the Earth to fall in love.
Since I am not a christian, I actually liked the how the author described the Heaven in other kind of way. It was really creative to describe the Heaven was socialized as same as our society. The only problem in the book was that the author had described the God into a lazy man who only wanted to watch sports and musics. It could’ve have been an another creative idea of the author, but this topic could’ve brought fights between Christians and non-religious. It would have been better if he had described much more indirectly regrading the Christians.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
My review is about “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone”, it is the first book of the “Harry Potter” series. I think a lot of people has heard of it. It is a really nice book.
“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” was written by Joanne Rowling. Joanne Rowling was born in July 1965 at Yate General Hospital in England and grew up in Chepstow.
Jo went to London when she grow up, she started working there, and then she started writing “Harry Potter”.
In my opinion, the author of this book is really imaginative. Some people think that this kind of wizardry thing is boring, it is impossible in the world that we’re living, because it’s untrue. This is the reason I like it, because things that never happen in the real world can happen in this book, and I think this is why a lot of other people like it, too.
When a letter arrives to Harry Potter lives with his aunt’s family, he has been treated very bad, but then a letter arrives to him, a secret is revealed to him: his parents were wizards, and the were killed by the Veldemort when Harry was one year old, and he survived. Then Harry came to a wizard school, he had a surprising adventure when he finds a three-headed giant dog guarding a room on the third floor. Then he hears of a missing stone with astonishing magical powers.
It is one of the amazing books that I’ve ever read. Here I sincerely recommend the books to you! They’re really fantastic!

    The book review————The Graveyard Book.
The story is about a boy who escapes from a killer——Jack. The boy run to the graveyard and the ghosts in the graveyard saved him. The ghost gave him a name called Nobody and the game of graveyard is start.
I really love this book. The Writer describe in the book is great. I really like Nobody he is really brave and he saved a lot of people and killed Jack. Also I like the witch in the story, she was one of the graveyard too, but she still can use her magic. In the book Nobody always liked to do some thing really excite, but when he was in problems the witch always saved him. I think the writer use a lot of describe in the story, he describe every character’s look like and it is really neat I think.
This book is not very popular but I agree this a great book to read. The characters in the story is different, the setting is the dark graveyard and the end of the story is really surprise (you even cannot believe it).

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The second book of “Harry Potter” series is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, it is about a wizard named Harry Potter is having the twelfth birthday at the end of July, and he lives with his mother’s sister Petunia and her husband and son.
However, Harry is not as normal as the rest of his family. From September to June he lives in a magic school called Hogwarts. Hundreds of other boys and girls live at there too, they are all learning magic. Some of them are from wizarding families, whilst others grow up knowing nothing of the magical world and receive letters on their eleventh birthday telling them that those strange abilities they’ve always had are in fact impotent magical powers.
It is Harry’s second year at Hogwarts, he has two very best friends Ron and Hermione. In Harry’s first year at Hogwarts, he discovered that the man who murdered his parents is living, albeit a kind of half life, draining the life from others, and seeking a way to return himself back to his full health and power. This man’s name is Voldermort.
This book is more of a mystery than its predecessor; with a real air of intrigue and uncertainty about it. Yet it finds itself in a slightly awkward position, somewhere between childhood innocence and naivety and darker teenage horror. In many places it seems a bit obvious and ham-fisted.
Personally I enjoyed this story. People at any age would enjoy so long as they can understand the language used. The good thing about the story was the more they found out, the more it confused them.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban opens on the night before Harry’s thirteenth birthday, when he receives gifts by Owl Post from his friends at school. The next morning at breakfast, Harry sees on television that a man named Black is on the loose from prison. At this time, Aunt Marge comes to stay with the Dursleys, and she insults Harry’s parents numerous times. Harry accidentally causes her to inflate. Harry leaves the Dursley’s house and is picked up by the Knight Bus, but only after an alarming sighting of a large, black dog. The Knight Bus drops Harry off at Diagon Alley, where he is greeted by Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic. He rents a room and awaits the start of school. In Diagon Alley, Harry finishes his schoolwork, admires a Firebolt broomstick in the window of a shop, and after some time, finds his friends Ron and Hermione. At a pet shop, Hermione buys a cat named Crookshanks, who chases Scabbers, Ron’s aging pet rat. Ron is most displeased. The night before they all head off to Hogwarts, Harry overhears Ron’s parents discussing the fact that Sirius Black is after Harry.
I like this book very much, but I think this book is not good enough as the first two books of “Harry Potter”. In the third book, it talked more about magic and how did Harry and his friends solved the problems, this book is very good, they’re really fantastic!

    The Book Thief

This book was written by Markus Zusak, published on August.2007. It was about a girl’s life in Germany during the WWII, it’s like a story using a person’s life to define history.
Personally, I think it’s a nice book. The story is very touching, and sad, it has fully showed the sadness of the war. The funniest thing is the story in the book was told by “the death”, for example, “the death” said he knew a little girl whose name is Liesel, because he took her brother’s life in this case, “the death” know the little girl. Our main character is Liesel Meminger, a girl that has lost her families.
She likes reading a lot, she lives with her foster father, who’s job is a painter. Her foster father teaches her by reading and other methods in their basement. This little girl always tries to find more and more books, like steal, pick or even take it from the books that German soldiers wants to burn, therefor, this little girl got a nickname——the book thief.
The story advocate peace and anti-discrimination. From the story we can see that war brings death, and hopelessness. The discrimination of the Jews are really serious, the German soldiers whip and abuse the Jews, and kill them all.
I really recommend this book, one of the reasons is because the purport of the story is very important——peace.
Without peace, our world will be distorted by it self, so let us cherish peace, and bring it to our world!

Cherry E7E Game of Thrones series. The Feast for Crows

The Feast For Crows is the fourth book in the Game of Thrones series. If you don’t read the first three books, you won’t be able to understand what the book is about, since the books are related and the foundation informations are mostly in book 1. The plot of this book is basically about different people fighting for the leftovers of the big families. It also talks about stories about royal family members after the fight between big families. The basic idea the auther tries to express throughout different perspectives of characters is “Never trust anyone” and “When playing the game of thrones, you win or you die”. The setting is in the land of Westeros, started from Robert defeating the Targaryen family. House Stark, House Lannister, House Baratheon and House Targaryen are the most important families in the story. I love this book because the setting and plot attracted me alot because conflicts and how the characters are thinking.
