This Lullaby, first originally is a song written for Remy by her Real father who was a singer. He had left Remy’s mom when he found out that she was pregnant for Remy. Anyway the main plot is Remy meets this Guy called Dexter, unlike other guys she had ever met!. Remy is the type that have a particular time when she dumps a guy and make a statement she calls “The Speech” whenever she dumps them. So, what happens when she meets Dexter, will she dump him? Find out. Also find out the connection of why this book is called This Lullaby. It has some certain connections that’s quite interesting for it’s title. Also one interesting thing is that Remy’s mom is a writer, she wants to get married and this is her Fifth marriage. WOW! That took n=me by surprise. I like the story her mom writes, some brief parts were explained there, and it kind of reflecting Remy’s life and some parts are just added(in a sense). Which brings the question, We discussed in English class. Can Remy’s mom name hr book “Nonfiction” instead of “Fiction”. She how romance is portrayed with the personalities of Remy, and Dexter, the main characters.
A brief reflection of the author: Sarah Dessen seems to enjoy writing romance books, but she mostly base the romance of most of her books on the personalities of the characters, e.g Annabel can hardly get the courage to say the truth or speak her mind, but Owen speaks up, and tries his best to always say the truth, also Remy is well responsible, smart, very clean, but Dexter is kind of messy. Sarah likes to mostly the main character to be a girl, who met a boy that is unlike other boys she had ever met before. The girl is kind of the main characters in her books to meet a change. Also she seems to be writing of her experience or so, like in Just Listen at the appreciation part she said something like thanks to so,so,so. He is the most truthful person i’ve ever met and so on. Enjoy this book. It’s funny and good.
