Sorry, we don’t have this book in the library yet (but we do have some other Nicholas Sparks books: At First Sight and The Rescue)

Nicholas Sparks begins the story by promising the readers “First you will smile, and the you will cry— don’t say you haven’t been warned”. A walk to Remember. A walk to Remember, one of the most famous romance novels from Nicholas Sparks, set in 1950s in Beaufort, North Carolina with a typical teenage boy, who cares a Landon Carter. And his life drastically changes after met Jamie, the shy, who was destined to show him the depths of the human heart.

Landon and Jamie get to know a bit more about each other ever since Landon asked Jamie out in the homecoming dance party. Despite of the fact that he didn’t want to ask her out, he had to since he thought it would be really awkward if the school body president doesn’t have a date. Even after the party ends, they still keep in touch with each other but didn’t have any feeling to each other. Jamie wears the brown colored jacket as usual every single day, carrying a bible.

In just one night play, Landon really realizes that he loves Jamie very much. Landon, who’d never thought that he would be in love with Jamie, who’d never been to orphanage and spent time with the kids, had changed. As I was reading this book, it reminded one of the most famous love quote, “A woman can’t change a man because she loves him, a man changes himself because he loves her”. And this book really tells us about the true love, which makes the readers look back to their loves before. I’ve fall in love before, but not Jamie. The feeling of first love for Jamie and I were pretty much the same, which even made me really emotional and cry all night hiding under my bed.

Nicholas Sparks has this power to drive the readers into the story even without a single illustration. Every single word he writes on this book, A Walk To Remember, is very touching and indescribable. I would strongly recommend this to my fellow classmates and other Grade8 and Grade9.
