The book ‘The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian’ talks of a boy who has a brain problem which he calls ‘brain grease’ from the result of having too much cerebral spinal fluid. He is an Indian and living in the Indian reservation which they call ‘rez’. He goes to the school in Wellpint which is in the rez area, because he was born of a poor family. He faces some challenges in life, always being bullied by people in his school, by mates. He has a best friend who was also an Indian called Rowdy. When he decides to change into a new and more expensive school, he fought with his best friend and was being hated by his best friend and some Indian’s, he also decides to take the challenge of attending a school were he the only black person in other to fight for his dream and continue soaring high for the sky. After entering the school he makes friends with some nice people and to his surprise he was never being bullied as much as in his former school, he was smarter than most of the kids there and seemed to be respected. He became more respected after he started dating the most beautiful and intelligent girl in the school, but as life passed on, his dad’s best friend whom he look onto as an uncle died, his grandmother whom he loved so much and was also loved by many died, his only older sister died, he was blamed by his best friend because of the death of his sister. Is he the cause of their death and will his relationship with his best friend be broken forever?. Rad it to find out the answer (if you don’t like childish books like me, I advise you not to read it, but it’s quite interesting).
The book taught me an interesting fact; first read a story for the story and understand the plot development. second read a story and know the meaning of the words written in the story. Take the book you read seriously and read story for it to give you joy from the inside.
The book seemed truly in a stylish diary way. It seemed like the writer was writing his mind as he was writing, like it’s his true diary and the true story of his life. Who knows maybe it’s his true diary, because the title says so.
